Heading forward with Dream at his side, excitement welled up in his chest. He could not wait to show her the magnificent place he had been to earlier. Moonlight was sure she would just love it - anyone who didn't had to be out of their right mind. The wind brushed through his silver tassles as he raced forward with Dream into the night. Heart and pistons both pumping, he felt as if he was in a dreamland. Surprisingly, he heard the nicker of another - stallion he thought. Were not only the Lord and Lady of the Lights alllowed in these lands? Slowing, he reached the stag that stood in his home. Moonlight was sure it was just a simple mistake, but he was ready to fight if needed. When the brute bowed and showed respect, he was sure it was all fine. Hearing his words, he saw sincerity in his orbs.
'Tis fine, all make mistakes some time or another. What were you searching for, may I ask...um...?
He faltered, for he did not know his name. Turning his glance over to Dream, he checked to be sure she was fine. He did not want to be overprotective, but he needed to help defend his Queen if need be. Turning once more to the stallion, he waited for an answer. Seeing the embarrassment he held, he smiled, for he knew just what it was like getting yourself into a bad situation.

Letting out a small, quiet sigh, the stag slightly smiled towards the lord, and was thnakful he hadn't taken it rashly.
..Shadowfax The stag finished for the Lord. He loved his name, the sound of it made him want to say it again, and he said it with pride. Grey tassels streamed over his darkened orbs as the stag listened to the lord's words, then thinking carefully, answered..
Well.. I uh, was looking around, basically. he started, not knowing really what to say. But since I have found thy Lord and Blessed Lady, I would humbly ask.. to join your herd. Finally. The question had been spilt. The nervousness in his gut made Shadowfax feel quite sick, but he felt confident in his question. He wished to join ther herd..not only because they were Royal, but he didn't know what else to do. He didn't feel like claiming territory for himself..and the thought of battleing for it or a mare made him again feel sick.
His orbs met the stag's as he fiished his question, and he patiently awaitied the answer. He was nervous, but his heart told him the Lord was a kind and noble stag.. yet Shadowfax hadn't exactly shown his worth. If I must I shall prove my worth to thee. he stated, looking boldy upon the lord.

The stag that stood before him was quite respectful - something Moonlight admired in horses. A smile appeared on his maw, for he seemed to have a lot in common with Shadowfax. Nodding his head he parted his maw to speak to this new friend.
I completely understand, Shadowfax. And it is a pleasure to meet you. About the herd...well, I don't think that Dream and I have a herd. But then again, she knows more than I so I might be incorrect.
Glancing back to Dreamweaver who stood like an angel herself, he had question in his orbs. Moonlight didn't think they had a herd, but since he met Dream his head had been in the clouds. Waiting for her answer, he listened to the owl who hooted in the distance once more, giving the land a slightly eerie touch.

The silver stag slightly bowed his crania in the lord's words. He glanced to the queen whom met his gaze for a moment. Looking away, Shadowfax awaited their answer..still quite nervous. He wondered what the lord meant by "I don't think this is a herd", and he tilted his chizzled silver head, wondering. They were together.. weren't they? Or had Shadowfax, again, been stupidly mistaken.

Noticing a stag of moon-washed colors, the Queen of Lights came to an abrupt halt. Dream reached into his mind, sensing his siding was of pure intent, he didn't mean them harm. Instantaniously the mare relaxed, even visibly showing it by sliding back a hind-leg in a content manner. Her tassles framed her creme face, untouched by outside influences. Suddenly she smiled, her mate's words reaching her auds, sounding of the sweetest harmony.
"My love, you are indeed mistaken, be it none of your own fault. She paused and glanced passively towards Moonlight.
"We have a herd, but it is small to say the very least. It consists of you, I, our messanger, and a few special mares or stallions of our siding."
Dream now turned to Shadowfax, still unknowing of his wants and even his calling. Her orbs, however, were full of kindness and somewhat distraction at the coming of the war.

Seriously thinking about it, he thought that this was only where Light Royals lived, not where a herd was. But wait, he had a thought. What if Shadowfax was the messanger? Thinking back, he was sure that they still needed one, and he got word that Chocolate and Traversura already had a royal messanger. He decided to wait to ask Dream in private about his thought however, for that would be more considerate.
Gazing once more into the eyes of his love, he waited for a response from her, for he was not all entirely sure. The sky was dark by now and the stars dotted the sky like diamonds. The moon was out, a little less than full however. Leaves rustled in the trees in the gentle wind and the owl continued with its noise.

Hearing Dream's words, he nodded. Clearly he had been mistaken, and he was sorry at that. Thinking about Shadowfax, he was sure that he would make a fine stallion to have in their herd. However, he would let her make the decision.
I apologize for my mistake. I will let you make the decision, Dream.
Looking to her, he nodded, waiting to hear what she would say.
- ooc: sorry it's short, got to get going in a min... -

Grinning, she wordlessley got his thought-talk, it was something all royals were priveleged with...telepathy. Dream sent him a picture of Shadowfax galloping towards his destination, clearly sending a message somewhere. This was meant to tell Moon that she agreed with his thought, Shadow could become their messanger.
The ess walked over to the stallion and lipped his mane, she loved him so much she felt her heart would burst in his presence.
I love you. She thought to him. More than she could say she adored and honored everything about him, he was her soul-mate.

Looking slightly away, the stag waited for the royal's answer. He wondered what thye thought of him, and it was taking a long time for them to agree on letting him become part of the 'herd', so he was again nervous and slightly impatient.
Silver tassels waved delicatly in the breeze a a strong wind came rushing throught the land. Nares quivered as the stallion took in the sweet aroma of the Royal equine's land. Slits turned back to the two, whom were apparently deep in thought and looked as if they had better things to do.

Smiling at his love, his orbs beamed with love and affection. I love you too. It was the first time he had ever said, well thought, that to a mare and truely meant it with all his heart. Others had said it to him in the past, but he knew they did not mean it, they just wanted to have a foal with him and leave. But this one, Dream, she was different. He truely did love her. Turning his mind back to Shadowfax, he decided that messanger would fit him wonderfully.
"Shadowfax, would you be interested in being the Royal Messanger for the Light equines? We would be glad to have you if you would accept it, and if not, we would understand just as well."
Looking at Shadowfax questioningly, he hoped that this stallion would accept, for he seemed suited for the job that still needed to be filled.

Auds suddenly perked as the lord spoke. Royal Messanger? Could this offer be true? Starting to get quite excited, Shadowfax kept his cool.
I would be honored to have such a positon. He stated, maw slightly smiling towards the stag. Finally he was part of a herd.. and he couldn't wait to begin his new life. But.. what exactly was the Royal Messanger?
Excuse my question, m'lord, but what exactly is the Royal Messanger.. what duties would you have me do? He asked, wondering. Waiting for the stallion's answer, Shadowfax's attention turned towards Dream, the Lady of Lights, Goddess of Blessed equine. Awe suddenly struck Shadowfax.. she was beautiful, and looked very wise and intelligant. Nonetheless, she was Moonlight's, but Fax figured he could still dawn on her from time to time. A smirk spread across his silver face, and his dark orbs flickered to the Lord, whom looked deep in thought. Another rough wind came streaming through the land, and Fax's mane was blown over his crest wildly. Slits narrowed slightly, and the stallion's pelt twitched as winged pests buzzed around his large, tall bodice.

Delighted at his response, a smile spread across Moonlight's maw. They finally had their messanger. Noticing Fax gazing at Dream, he instinctively snorted and stepped a bit closer to her. He had not known her long, but he already loved her more than anything in the world and he would not have a stallion come in and try to take her from him. Moonlight knew of Shadowfax by now, but he did not really know him or why he came into the royal lands. Keeping a close eye on him, he began to describe the job of the Royal Messanger.
"Well, the main job for the Royal Messanger is to deliver messages from us to anyone needed, whether it be Darks or Lights - so you must know how to defend yourself if need be. Do you think you are up for the job?"
Pawing the earth gently, his thoughts returned once more to Dreamweaver. She was the best thing that ever happened to him and he would surely give up his position as King for her well being. Lowering his gaze to the earth, he thought back to his past momentarily, mesmerized by its return in his mind. Saddness shaded his orbs for a short time, but then he remembered Dream. Gazing up at her, he wondered if she felt the same about him, or if she was just forced to love him because it was arranged.[/font]

Shadowfax chuckled to himself in his mind momentarily, Defend myself?! Ha! That's all I've done since I was a yearling! A smirk spread across his black maw, and the stag answered,
Of course I am up for the..challenge, m'lord. He stated proudly. You can surely count on me. he finished, not knowing what else to say. The thought of him being the 'messanger' excited Fax, and he couldn't wait to begin his role. Digging at the earth with a dagger Fax grew impatient, and suddenly noticed the slight warning glance from Moonlight. Had he noticed Fax looking at Dream? The stallion wondered, but didn't mean any harm whatsoever..

Dream listened intently as Moonlight described the job of the Royal Messenger and Shadowfax readily accepted. The mare was gladdened that he took up the duty, for they would need one when the time came. Dutifully she stood by her mate's side, as she would forever and always. Dreamweaver pressed closer to his barrel, feeling the warmth and comfort of being so near her true love. She whisked her whipcord over Moonlights' back, protectivley telling him that she was his and only his. Never would she feel love towards another.
"Well in that case, I have your first assignment Shadowfax. Would you care to visit all light herd leaders and ask them to meet with me in the Royal grounds?" She smiled towards him. "Your help would be much appreciated."
The ess awaited his response and her mate's touch. Would Shadow be alright with the first duty?

Smiling gleefully, but trying to hide his excitement,Shadowfax bowed low suddenly, grey tassels laying limply over his two darkened optics. Noticing Dreamweaver step close to Moon, he looked the other way slightly, noticing a groundhog that withdrew his attention. Focusing again, his excitement revved.
Of course m'lady! I shall continue now and return shortly. With this he gave them a last glance and set off at a quick pace through the land.
